………150cc GAS MOPED………?
im looking in to getting a 150cc gas moped for the street, and when i look one up on google it says 150cc mopeds for sale and when i click on one it says gas “SCOOTER” instead of gas “MOPED” and i was wondering if they’re the same thing because im not old enough to get anything else street registered. thanks
a moped is not a scooter as the others have mentioned, or vice versa
online distributors may call them mopeds out of ignorance or shady dealings. so when someone reads they don’t need a license in their state to operate a “moped” they see a 150cc scoot (or 50cc, for that matter) on sale as a “moped” and click the order button out of ignorance. soon enough they have your credit card charged, no refunds allowed, and a scooter arrives at your door which is most likely considered a motorcycle (or “motor driven cycle”) by law in your state.
it’s good you ask questions, as it just saved you some cash and embarrassment from ordering something which is not legal for you to ride as a moped, but rather as a motorcycle
